Position Description

Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School is a private college preparatory co-educational high school. Our goal is to provide a faith-filled, highly engaging, well-rounded academic experience that allows our students to become critical thinkers and tomorrow’s leaders. Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School seeks an educator to teach 9-12 grade Theology and lead the school in Campus Ministry. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and a valid Catechesis certification. An ideal candidate would possess strong communication and teaching skills and a willingness to take on extracurricular roles and responsibilities. 

Qualifications

  • A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Catechesis certification
  • Organize and plan school Masses, retreats and student service hours
  • Lead the school in accordance with Cardinal Mooney’s Catholic values 
  • Adhere to all Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School Administrative Rules
  • Embrace and implement research-based instructional strategies
  • Establish daily classroom routines and conditions that allow ALL students the

opportunity to access and make sense of course content

  • Be flexible and adapt to student and school needs
  • Be organized, reflective, participatory and punctual
  • Work frequently and cooperatively with other team members to continuously improve the instructional program
  • Communicate with parents on student progress.  Evaluate academic and social growth of students, prepare report cards and keep appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms and other recordkeeping activities as necessary
  • Effectively use computers and technology to support instruction and student learning
  • Adhere to all standards established by the Archdiocese of Detroit and the State of Michigan
  • Maintain appropriate licenses and training hours as required
  • Must complete the Protecting God’s Children workshop and state requirements for fingerprinting
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Principal

Position Description:

Cardinal Mooney Catholic High Schools seeks a mathematics teacher. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a certification in Mathematics (EX). Courses to be taught include Geometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus. An ideal candidate would possess strong communication and teaching skills and a willingness to take on extracurricular roles and responsibilities. 


Qualification/Requirements: 

-Mathematics (EX) 6-12 endorsement.

-Adhere to all Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School Administrative Rules.

-Embrace and implement research-based instructional strategies.
