College Fairs

Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers has made the decision to implement the use of the barcode and scanner program! This gives students access to a free online registration page where they can create a profile, with more detailed information and even elaborate on interests, extra-curricular activities, special accomplishments etc. about themselves.

This process generates a personalized barcode, which contains their contact information that students print and take to the fair.

Institutions attending the fair with a scanning device can easily collect this data. This procedure enhances secure data sharing, reduces the use of prospect cards and increases face to face interaction between student and institution representative.

How does this work?

• Students access www.gotocollegefairs.com website
• Click on the “Student Register Now” button
• Select state and choose the fair to attend
• Complete the registration form (Students may decide to complete only mandatory questions)
• Check the “terms and conditions box” and submit the form
• The barcode is displayed – they print the barcode and they’re done!

We encourage students to register early without worry of misplacing their barcodes. Two days prior to the fair and on the day of the fair, a reminder email is sent to each registered student with a copy of their barcode attached.
